I served New Zealand as a medic for four years. Amongst other postings I was deployed to East Timor in 2002 where some of my duties were:-

First Aid Instructor
Battalion Group Health Force

• Taught theory and practical lessons
• Worked with other instructors to provide consistent training

Achievement: 100% Pass rate for all 16 students

Platoon Medic
Platoon 3 (based on the border with West Timor)

• Sole charge position with responsibility for the health of thirty infantrymen
• Diagnosed and treated common diseases and injuries
• Maintained preventative health measures such as chlorinating water, and fogging to reduce the mosquito population

Achievement: A complimentary mention in personal file by the Platoon Commander for work done.
